About the service

VoxNotes allows you to send voice messages in the same way that you are used to sending SMS text or Instant Messenger messages. You can record and then send an audio message in one of three ways:

Sending any of these messages back and forth costs us money because it utilizes server infrastructure, telecom charges and maintenance charges. However, we have tried to keep the service as nearly free as possible. But we do need to charge a little bit here and there to cover some of our costs. Our rates though are incredibly low as can be seen from our rate sheet.

About the purchase process
  • When you first download the free app, it comes with a little bit of free VoxNotes Service credit.
  • "Credit" works just a pre-paid calling card. When you use a paid feature, the credit is decremented.
  • You can buy new credit at any time from the Buy Credit page that can be accessed either from the Current Balance page or directly from the $$ menu on the home screen of the app.
  • Credit purchase is done using PayPal. If you do not have PayPal, no problem, you can create an account during the purchase process. We will add other forms of payment in the future.
  • You can see your history of purchases at the Purchase History page, accessible from the $$ menu off the Home screen.
  • At any time, you can check what your credit balance is on the Current Balance page, also accessible from the $$ menu offf the Home screen.
  • Unused credit expires 90 days after purchase. When you buy new credit, your old credit is also extended by 90 days.
About the charges
  • VoxNotes does not use your cell minutes - EVER. It works over the Internet on your end. The other party will receive a phone call only in the OutDial case described above.
  • You can send any number of contacts for free
  • You can send any number of VoxNotes as direct email for free
  • You can send up to 2 app-to-app VoxNotes per day for free. Beyond that is 2 cents per message.
  • Rates for OutDial messages are charged based on a rounded-up per-minute basis. The rate sheet can be seen here.
  • For an OutDial message, the duration that is charged is the entire duration from when the recipient picks up their phone to when they hang up (including the time they take to record a reply if any), rounded up to the nearest minute.
  • Rates are subject to change. Please check this page from time to time.
